Stranahan House was built by Frank Stranahan, a businessman and trader from Ohio who settled in Fort Lauderdale around the beginning of the 20th century. Designed in the pioneer style, the building served as Stranahan’s base for his barge ferry business. After having undergone extensive modification and expansion over the years, it now has expansive verandas, wide bay windows, and lush tropical gardens. Inside, there is a Victorian parlor and several fine pieces of furniture dating back to the Victorian period.
There is now also a gift shop where you can buy an assortment of handmade items made by local artists.
